    Russian names : a balm, a lemon grass, lemon mint; the Ukrainian: мелiса лiкарська, limonna m'jata, matochnik (Volhynia); the Polish: melisa lekarska, rojownik.

    Family : Labiatae - gubotsvetnye.

    The Long-term grassy plant in height 30 - 120 sm, at grinding exudes a lemon smell. A stalk branched out, all plant is soft-volosistoe. Leaves heart-shaped-jajtsevidnye, krupnozubchatye, petiolar. Flowers pinkish or white, in pazushnyh bunches. Blossoms in July-August. Gets divorced often for bees; in some places the plant has got accustomed as wild, even weed. This plant at us does not grow in a wild condition, but women plant it in kitchen gardens, and in national medicine it has very wide application. Collect actually only leaves in the flowering beginning.

    On a human body operates with the oils, bitterness and tannins consisting in it: vetrogonno, mochegonno, raises nerves and digestion.

    It is known that in a balm there is a vitamin C.
